The St. Francis Recreation Commission consists of five board members appointed by the Board of Education.

Mission: To provide recreational opportunities for the citizens of St. Francis.
Current Project(s): Weight training, gymnastics, photography, alternative answers to health issue classes, Murder Mystery Dinner Party and a fused glass workshop.
History: On April 4, 1981, the citizens of St. Francis voted to form a Recreation Commission. The St. Francis Board of Education passed a resolution on May 4, 1981 and the first commission was formed. Past recreational programs have included adult and children's classes in arts, crafts, photography, ceramics, aerobics, gymnastics, tumbling, tennis, softball, football and sports camps. The Commission has operated on a 1-mill levy each year and the current budget is $40,000.
